                   	     ORDINANCE NO. 10580
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY
                   LOCATED SOUTHWEST FROM WEST 12TH STREET,
                   BETWEEN CARTER STREET AND FORT STREET, MORE
                   PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned an alley located southwest from West 12th Street, 

         between Carter Street and Fort Street, more particularly 
described
         herein, and as shown on plat attached hereto and made a part
         hereof by reference:
                A 30 foot wide alleyway beginning on the southwest
                line of West 12th Street 111.5 feet southeast of
                the intersection of the southwest line of West 12th
                Street with the southeast line of Carter Street,
                and extending southwest 400 feet between parallel
                lines, and parallel to Carter Street, to the
                northeast line of West 13th Street.  Said alleyway
                was dedicated to the public use by deed recorded in
                deed book L, volume 3, page 546, ROHC.  Tax Map No.
                145F-F-1, 2, and 7-15.
               
               
               
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage as 
provided
         by law.
